Default 2010 xB with Alpine Headunit - how to upgrade to Navigation?

Hi group,

I am a Total Newbie and just picked up a 2010 xB with the Alpine Head unit, is there a way to buy the Navigation unit and upgrade my Alpine to have Navigation...

There's always a way. You just have to buy the navigation add on for the unit and install it like any other aftermarket DVD indash unit.

I just purchased a Stingray Metallic 2010 xB today. I asked the dealer about the navigation add-on and they told me that it's not in their system yet. I assume that it's be a fairly simple plug-in type upgrade, possibly some variant of the below:

Thanks, I am researching as well, I bought the same color with 5 speed...I am also checking into Bluetooth setup.

Finally got the part number and price of the nav add-on for the 2010 Alpine premium HU.

PT545-00100

$670.00

Other than above, I don't know anything about the unit.

That's a lot for the add-on. And the navi screen is relatively small. Barring some new development, I'll probably be selling my Alpine HU and going with any number of double-DIN solutions.

Yeah, I've been looking at the AVIC series from Pioneer, primarily for what appears to be a very robust hacking scene (avic411.com).
