Question 2012 scion xb radio recess / move it back 1/4 inch

How difficult would it be to recess the stock radio about a quarter inch back from the stock location? would this require a new radio mounting bracket...?

i am planning on mounting an ipad mini in front of the radio but to use/keep the factory bezel, i would have to move the radio back enough to allow the ipad to sit in front of it....

anyone that has the experience with this, your input is really appreciated it!

happy holidays!

Easiest way would be to custom make some mounting brackets but first I would take off the stock brackets and see how far back the deck can actually go and measure up

thanks for the reply, hoenah, that's my plan.... the first thing im doing when i get my xb delivered is to have an amp+sub installed in it and i will ask the shop to recess the radio while they're at it like you mentioned.

Personally I'd dump the stock unit and do this

Unfortunately I don't got the extra cash for a tablet right now.
