2014 xB BeSpoke Upgrade?
Bought my 2014 xB yesterday, I asked the salesman about Navigation, he said its just a chip and the dealer charges 1200 bucks for it, and that I could find it online way cheaper.
(we had a good a rapport) was he bs-ing me or am I looking at the wrong thing? Any help would be appreciated. I just want to know if its worth chasing down.

Interestingly enough, I just bought the head unit from a 2014 xB to put in my older 2009 xB. I actually found a seller on craigslist who had one brand new from the dealer that he was dumping for $200 (story was that his wife insisted on having XM so they paid the dealer to install an aftermarket unit).
Anyway, here's what I can tell you about it:
* It has no sub outputs, but you can get a good quality line out converter (super easy to install right to the back of the head unit wiring) for about $10 on Amazon.
* There is absolutely a navigation module you can add on. In fact, there are multiple modules you can add from both Scion and Toyota. All have different feature sets and are compatible with this unit (I'll dig up a list if anyone is really interested). The module mounts right below the unit itself (the standard unit is only about half as tall as the face plate, so the bottom half behind it is empty).
* Sound quality is surprisingly good for a factory unit.
* You can use an aftermarket backup camera; you'll need a 16 pin connector and a loose wire and pin to add the reverse signal to the existing harness.
* The unit does not have a bluetooth microphone, so you'll need an OEM toyota/scion one to use (it's not straight wiring; there is some logic involved, so you can't easily adapt an aftermarket one)

I purchased the BeSpoke Nav upgrade, I think in early May. took me about ten minutes to install. I wish i had bought the backup camera at the same time. Everything was incredibly easy to install, all plug and play. Ive been happy with it. My 2014 xB came with Bluetooth, and a mic so I didn't have to add anything.
I've found a backup camera on eBay for around 120 bucks that just plugs and plays no extra wiring and will automatically switch to backup mode. (at least from what I've read in the description).
My friend bought a 2014 Subaru Crosstek, and it has the same radio as the BRZ (which will probably fit Scions) but his navigation, and interface is very meh, but he gets satellite. that might be the trade off.
