2015 XB lights out
My interior lights on my 2015 XB for the 3 round A/C temperature, vent control ***** as well as the gear shift indicator lighting is out. I have not done any maintenance or mods recently, simply noticed they are out. I have not checked anything yet, wondering if this is a common issue with this car? Would one fuse be for these lights mentioned?
Further investigation indicates from the interior passenger compartment fuse box, Fuse no. 2, For instrument cluster lights, instrument panel lights, gauges and meters should be correct fuse, but all other items assigned to that fuse are not out? Checking that fuse now.
Fuse is good.
- Do the 3 round control ***** light up, or just the orange lighted on/off push switch in the center of the ****? (Just the orange switch is illuminating)
- Does the gearshift area illuminate by the gearshift ****, or just the digital gear indicator on the dash? (Just the digital dash gear indicator is illuminated)
Greg, yes that's the first thing I tried was the dimmer **** which works on the digital dash up above. What I was wondering is those three round ***** on the center for the AC and vent controls are they supposed to be lit up? Along with the gear indicator is by my shift **** should that be lit up it just looks darker than it used to be.
Yes the three ***** should be backlit amber just like the dash. The bulbs used are small incandescent ones and they can become loose over time. I've replaced mine with T4 LED bulbs, but it's a bit of a pain to get to them as the controls have to be removed from the car to do it. As dumb as it sounds try smacking the side of the console to see if they flicker back on. If so then you know they are loose. As for the gear indicator, I'm not sure since I drive a stick.
All working this morning. I cannot explain it, no flickering, no hesitation, just plain working. Maybe when I removed/re-installed the fuse? I'm happy but clueless.
Thanks for your input, Greg

I'll take bets on the bulbs being loose in the sockets. Not an uncommon problem unfortunately.
