yes. 1st gen will charge, 2nd will not without an adapter.

I don't know what 1st or 2nd gen iPod Touch... no idea, now they have iPod Touch 8GB, 32GB, and 64GBm also, how about the new iPod Nano?

Nope. It'll play, but it won't charge.

Here's what I bought from eBay:
Scosche Adapter. About $20 and it connects to the Scion cable that plugs into your iPod.
