Default Alloy wheels or Premium audio?

Ok, it is almost 3 weeks since i purchased my 2012 xB. The xB was purchased with alloy wheels and SiriusXM tuner, which neither was installed at the time I drove it off the lot. My dealer said that once the wheels and tuner come in that I bring the car back to be so the can install it all.

Since then and numerous calls to my dealer, I was told that the wheels have not come in yet but the tuner is in. They told me that shipping is slow because they were coming from California. I live in Massachusetts. Is this normal?

So, today, I suggested that they install the Premium audio unit in lieu of the wheels. It seems not right to be making my first car payment on an order that has not been fulfilled. The parts manager told me that they have two Premium units in stock. My Sirius tuner is in. They are looking into it. My question: is this a good suggestion or shoukd I stick it out and wait for the wheels?

cancel both parts, buy aftermarket wheels for much much less, and get an equivalent aftermarket pioneer nav/bt/sat radio for about half.

Unless both of those items were included into your financed number, then you're pretty much stuck.

Big Jim....you are right but...since it will take 6 weeks for the alloy wheels, they cancelled the order per my request and credited it off my financing. I did check with the financing people and they confirmed it. Less time to pay off the car...which is fine with me.

Now I gotta look for aftermarket alloys that are cheaper than the $798 that Toyota would have charged. Know any reputable sites?

They are installing the Sirius tuner next week since that part is in.

Were you looking for 16" alloy wheels?or were you looking for aftermarket larger wheels? im guessing you were after the 16" ones, not the TRD 19s. First thing I'd do is look through here at the classifieds. That's what its there for. Even check your local craigslist.

I am looking for the 16" wheels. I will look here first. New project to research. Thanks for your insight.

They're an inexpensive wheel brand.

Here's the link for the XXR wheels at Next Level Motoring. They are well known for low prices on the XXR's and high quality customer service.

It all depends on the the wheels, there's a lot of cheap stuff out there. I checked out their website and it looks like a good deal with the dismount, remount, balance, new stems, lug nuts & locks, and hub rings, but they don't give any manufacturer brand names for the wheels, just generic wheel names so who knows what they are. Also keep in mind that you will want to have the TPMS sensors swapped over which will require a rebuild kit to replace the rubber gaskets on the sensors so they seal properly on the new wheels. A rebuild kit usually runs about $30... not expensive, just an FYI.

If I were looking into 16s, I'd look for a set of these 90s RAV4 wheels:

Nice find! Those are sweet, especially if they're actually from a RAV4. My aunt has driven a RAV4 since they came out, & I don't remember ever seeing those wheels (although I didn't really pay attention back then). Lol

I wasn't doubting you at all Scream, and I repeat; nice find! I say go for those if you can find 4 of them Ursula. That's a wheel that I've never seen on an xB that would look incredible & very unique even if they are an old Toyota wheel, plus they should fit fine even though I didn't check all the specs (offset?).

I was just reassuring you CIONIDE, no worries

They're 16x6.5 +42 according to that eBay listing.
