Nice call Chadfo!

Did you just use a hacksaw to cut the post down?

Thanks! I used a grinder with a metal cutting wheel. It cut like butter. The metal is soft enough a hack saw would probably cut it pretty easily.

Does anyone know why the metal is so hard to thread after you cut it down?

I have a carbon fiber **** I really like but it sticks up so far I could use it for an aux. antenna. The stock auto shifters nut is way up inside it so anything I put on pokes up higher than the stock. I'd love to cut that rod down like the one in the pics. That's sick.

Yea I tried a bunch of aftermarket ***** and I guess most of them arent deep enough so it sits way too high. Ive thought about cutting it, but now I ended up getting the dealer Razo one instead. I must of returned like 3 ***** so far, a few Razos Ive found you could thread in but the threaded part is maybe half of what the stock threads are in length so it still sits way high.

The other **** was out of stock and I can't get anyone to reply to me so OBBN will not get my support in the future.

After seeing the gunmetal IchiBahn from obbn and finding that it is discontinued, I searched for something similar and found this one from Summit Racing.

Here it is in my xB...

Not really much shorter than stock, but I think it looks better.

Well, mine hasn't been cut. I didn't want to permanently modify anything. I did drill inside the cap of the new **** to let it sit lower than it did originally. It is held in place with 3 set screws that clamp it onto the shift lever.

yea if you cut it, its not loose. most shift **** kits come with fittings for it...

but if you WANT to thread it... just get a dye set. shouldnt take more than 10mins to do

Chadfo already tried threading that cut shaft and had a REALLY hard time getting it done.

I actually didn't get it done. The metal was too soft I guess. The die just chewed up the shaft.
