Default Auxiliary input volume

I have the upgraded Alpine stereo in my car, but the auxiliary input volume is real low, extremely poor quality, with the stereo volume all the way up its not very loud, the USB sounds good, but the aux input stinks, I can't play pandora, or tune in, sounds better from my phone speaker.
Anyone else have this problem, if not then chances are I have a bad cable from plug to stereo.

Do you have the volume up on your phone?

What he said ^^^

You need the phone volume to be at least and half way for the AUX input to work properly. And yes it is not the best connection, the USB is better because the signal is digital while the AUX in is an analog signal decoded by the phone which doesn't have the best D/A convertors.

Yes, volume on phone all the way up.
I think if the channels ground out this would happen, but I could have bad wires, or the plug itself, female end, I have tried 2 different male cords.
