Great idea! I just ordered the parts from KM Scion. I will be working on that next week! Thanks for the great writeup.

I was wondering if any of the folks who work for a dealership could tell me if there's any way to buy a second copy of the wiring harness piece that goes from the iPod/Aux ports to the back of the SNS. If so, how much would they cost. I'd like to buy that, and a second set of jacks, and put them in my glovebox, but not move the one in the console. I figured I could just switch the plugs on the back of the SNS for use with the glovebox jacks, but leave the other wires in place for the future.

Figures, I stopped by the parts department at my dealership yesterday, and had them order a second copy of this wire, to plug into the jack under the cup holders and re-route to the glovebox. The part that came in today had the iPod port hard-wired on one end (which certainly doesn't match up with the pics here, showing the wiring group to have a plug that connects to the iPod port. Worse yet was the other end, which is supposed to plug into the jack under the cup holders, but in stead it has the wrong "gender" plug on that end (male) on both the jack and on the wiring group that they ordered me. I really don't want to try to cut off these jacks since there isn't a lot of room down in there for my big hands, but damn, you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to do this.

excellent write up! definitely a lot cleaner/secure way of putting the ipod in; i hate how the wires are all over the damn place near the stick and ebrake.

Yeah, got the correct parts ordered today, coming in tomorrow. Going to add a secondary wire harness from under the cup-holder to the inside dash area behind the glovebox, and plug my iPod cable in to it so it can rest in my glovebox. Cost of parts = $75.00ish.
