Default door wiring valet light?

I ordered me some of the auto door lights that project the scion logo when you open the door. I know kindof cheesy... but what the heck ..haha..

Iv done some looking around and cant seem to find a good answer anywhere... excuse me if iv missed it somewhere.

What (if any) wires can i tap into in the door panel that would make the lights come on when the door is open.. there are no valet lights in the door.. but are there some wires that do the same thing?..

Thanks!

There are: the dome lights. Look for the puddle light thread that is on here fron LEDMod. That will show you what you need to do.

ahh forums... good information.. but so damn much to sort though... i cant seem to find the thread your talking about.

what im guessing from what i have found:

there is no wiring in the door itself that will work?

I have to wire it all the way to the box under the kick plate to the left of the steering?

if i have to run the wires through the door i dont know if its able to be done.
the puddle lights dont have to go through the door..

oh well... maybe ill just have to install the somwhere else...? :D

Yep. You'll have to run your own wires. Use a piece of 1/4" DOT airline to run them. Made life a breeze for me. Insert stiff airline, insert wires through airline, remove airline, VOILA! Wires are in.

Yuuuup, had to run wires through the door grommet. It was a biotch.
Then ran black wire to the courtesy switch on the b-pillar and just tapped into a 12v under the LH IP. Pretty easy once you get the wires inside.
I pulled the grommet out of the door, this made it much easier. Didn't think of the air line, will try that next time. I have another set to install shortly.

Just follow wiring instructions for the lighted door sills. Passenger side is easier.

Oh, I would also use some Loctite, as you can't get a wrench inside the door to torque down on the nut. Also, you need to power them up to adjust the emblem on the ground.
