Default Effects of replacing stock head unit with something else...

Hey everyone. Just wondering if I'm missing any details here. If I replace the stock head unit (which I'm going to do) with something else, I already know I'll lose my steering wheel controls unless I use one of the adapters (which I've bought). The thing is, I heard I'll lose capabilities to use the AUX/iPod ports that are in the center console. Is this true? Or does it only apply to one of those things? (IE: Aux only or iPod only)

Yep. You lose both iPod and aux unless you add it with the new headunit. You can wire into the stock stuff, but new headunit needs to have both mentioned items. Wouldn't really be all that difficult. Just have to know the pinout of the iPod (easily acquired) and the pinout of the OEM connector (relatively easily acquired). Then either tap into the individual wires or cut/solder/heatshrink.
