Default How Do You Remove Console Under Shifter On A 2008 xB??

I'm hooking up an amp for my subs in my 08 xB and I need to remove the console under the shifter so I can access the cigarette lighter wires. I want to tap into it so I can hookup my remote wire for my amp to it.

Pull on it after you remove the top covers. 4 screws and then physical basically. It does take some doing but its not hard to remove. just get the 4 srews first under the Tranny Cover!

why are you using the cigarette lighter for your remote turn on? If your head unit does not have a remote turn on output it would be alot easier to access the ignition wire.

Does the shifter panel just pull off or is it screwed in? If it has screws where are they located?

I was using the cigarette lighter for a remote wire because i thought it would be easier since I don't know where the ignition wire is located.

If you tap into the cigarette lighter your turn-on lead will be hot all the time......that means it will keep your amps on even when you get out of the car.

By tapping into the cigarette lighter, why would that change when the lighter only works when the car is on or if it's on acc?
