Can anyone tell me the factory size and location for the speakers in the 2008 xB? Scion online chat, service department, and sales staff don't seem to be able to know what size speakers are in the new xB.

 

I just went outside and measured. The front doors appear to have a 6.5" speaker, I am guessing this by the grill size and what I could see of the speaker through the grill. The grill in the back is smaller and I could see clearly a 5.25" speaker. That's why I think the fronts are 6.5", I'm about 95% sure and the grill measures about 7".

There is also a tweeter in the doors in a triangle pod about 1.25"

 

The front speakers and 10" and the rear are 7.5" because everything about the xB is HUGE.

just messing with the xB2 owners. they are prob 6.5" and 5.25" since that seems to be a popular size with Scions.

 

aren't there speakers in the dash again? Can anyone confirm this with the door panels removed?

No dash speakers. I went outside with my camera to take pix but the pix make it even more confusing IMO. I can see the reflections of the cone in the front door and it's larger than the speakers in the back which I am sure are 5.25". So the fronts have to be 6.5" unless it's some strange over/under sized speaker.

I have been taking apart my car for the past 2 days so I will try to take the panels off to confirm for ya.

yes I work for MTX, you get me some specs on good location for an enclosure and I'll see what I can do.

 

I just went outside and confirmed it is a 6.5" and a 5.25" speaker in the doors. Didn't need to take the door apart, I had a good light I shined up into the grill and could clearly see the speaker sizes.

I took out the front speakers yesterday and they are 6.5 I swapped em out yesterday and the rears are 5.25 there's also tweeters above the door pannel and their small idk a measurment on them

 

what make are the factory speakers? are they pioneer too ? are they worth replacing?

 

Anything stock is worth replacing :D

 

Pioneer's website is showing 6.5" for both front and back doors with a 1.5" tweeter in front, is that right?

 

That is what WILL fit. In the rear they actually have smaller speakers installed factory.
