Installed Premium HU... Help!!
I swaped out the base HU with the Premium. When i started the car the radio was non responsive. all the connections were right. So i put the old HU in and that wont work eaither. I checked all the connection and everythings right. Fuses are fine too. I really dont want to go to the dealer and pay lots of $$$. Any suggestions on what could be the prob???? thanks
everything else in the car works fine. Yes i started the car... the deck just has no power. All the plugs are connected. Is there a reset on the deck itself? i checked the fuses under the hood... the are good. I have installed a few stereos in my day so i do know what im doing usually.
look underneath the driver side dash. You have to physical lay on your back looking up into the dash. You will see a fuse panel. Other than that, the owners manual will tell you where to look for the fuse box inside the car.

Get a hold of a digital multimeter and check for voltage going into the HU. If you were able to do the installation, you should know which wire going in is the power wire (only saying this because I have no clue off the top of my head which wire it is). If you have voltage going in, then that circuit is fine. Also check the voltage of the battery, if the voltage going into the HU is EXACTLY the same as battery voltage, then you have no ground (or an open somewhere along the line between the HU and ground). A DMM can be your best friend in situations like this.

Check your wiring before you just go in and replace the fuse, if you've got power shorted to ground, you're just going to keep popping that fuse over and over again. The fuse blew out for a reason.
