I got the new Apple Iphone 4S and was wondering if hooked up to the IPOD cable will it play music through the stereo? And if so, would the steering wheel controls work. I haven't tried it because I'm scared of damaging the new phone. :-) Has anyone had any experience with this? Thx

 

It will work, although It will not charge the phone. I use my ipad2 and i4 in my car using the iPod cables. Other than that everything works fine, just wish it would charge though.

Oh btw,I do not believe you can use the steering controls for your phone. I couldn't even do it using my old iPod that did charge unfortunately.

I tried it this morning and it does work. And you can control it through the steering wheel. Just doesn't charge the phone, like you said. Pretty sure you can buy an adapter that will allow it to charge. I saw it in another thread, can't remember the product name tho.

 

I am using the Scosche Passport adaptor you can get this from Target or Best buy, this will charge the 4s. I just got it last night and its charging and allows me to still control from steering

 

I have iphone 4 (not "s") but it works fine for playback/charging/steering wheel controlled...

 

My and my GFs phones work fine. She has the 4s and i have the 4
