Default Just added bluetooth the the Factory Navigation 08 xB

My brother just got his new Scion Xb white with Navigation from the factory. we added the Eclipse hand free bluetooth part BT-E600 and it work with the factory unit. It does not display the number on the nav unit, but it will mute the stereo and use the factory speakers work good.

If thats true the eclipse bluetooth wouldnt work, so it cant be alpine. plus all the screens on the Scion Navigation System are the same as those on eclipse navigation head units.

Eclipse unit works through the wiring, not the head unit. Basically interrupts the sound before it gets to the speakers... that is why it doesn't show up on the screen.... It is Alpine, at some point you need to believe this because it's true and whether you believe it or not, it will still be true.

Does someone have the install / owner's manual for this Bluetooth adapter? Also, has anyone tried any other addons for the SNS to add bluetooth? Just trying to see my options.

The Eclipse BT unit is just a rebranded Parrot BT unit with plugs that fit the Toyota/Scion harness. Normally you would have to splice wires to install the parrot kit, eclipse kit just saves the work. The trouble with the eclipse BT method is that it doesn't allow you amplify the front speakers. You can add this eclipse kit to any Toy/scion that has the factory harness, regardless of HU brand, as long as the HU has the mute wire input, which most do.

So the true title of this thread should be "I just added a bluetooth car kit to my xB". Whoopee doooo....

the 2 bluetooth kits that Alpine Makes KCA-100BT and KCE-300BT will not work with the nav. These units either require AI-net or the Full speed IPOD connection. Neither are present on OEM equipment manufactured By Alpine. A really good substitute is the PARROT 3200LS will mute stereo and speak thru speakers and has a supplied Color LCD for caller ID and Phonebook
