Default Is my Scion Premium head unit no good?

After about 1-1/2 years, this morning my Scion Premium radio started acting weird.
-Coming ONLY from the right channel, there is a strong HISS sound on top of the regular audio output.
-Barely audible on AM radio, it is LOUD on FM radio and iPod.

My system is completely stock everything, no subs, nothing added, nothing rewired.

Any ideas?
-I'm afraid this Premium unit is no good now, and the original stock unit will have to go back in.

Thanks!

Sorry to here about your radio. Hopefully it is not broken, but if it is bad, I just bought a new Scion 4 weeks ago and took the Pioneer Premium radio out after 4 days, so it is as good as new. I'm selling it for $220 shipped, or $200 if someone wants to pick it up. I live in SE Idaho. Good Luck!

If you purchased any wrap coverage with your car, they should replace it for you no hassle. If you just have the standard Toyota warranty, I don't know if they'll cover it for you. It's best to just call and see what you can do.

Take it to the dealer. I'm sure your car has less than 36k on it. Use your warranty, that's what it's for.

Hi All (again),

The Pioneer premium unit has healed itself. (? ! ? )
-Don't know why, don't know how, but it is working fine again.

My '08 xB just received the 30,000 mile service, so there is still a little warranty remaining.
-Unfortunatel,y the Pioneer Premium was used, purchased on eBay. So I'm pretty sure the dealer would exclude it from warrantable repairs.

Anyway, it was still weird the way it acted for a while, but maybe the weirdness is over, hah!

Thanks All
