I just installed my factory nav system and did the nax fix. Now when I turn on the car it shows the map of Washington DC, I changed the system to my time zone and it will show directions to my house but it;s like it's stuck on default location. Where should the nav antinna be located? anyone have a picture? I am puzzled...

 

The antenna gets mounted just behind your instrument cluster up to the right near where the dash meets the firewall, once you make sure the connections are good, go into maintenence mode and make sure it is seeing satellites.

 

I thought it went under the hood? So it goes inside the dash?

ok, Well...I just moved it and it is working now. Now the only problem I am having now is it desn't work with the map dvd out. It did scan when I put it in. Is there a way to store the map.

 

how do you get into maintenance mode on the sns 100?

 

That is another thing, I looked under maintaince on the nav and there isn't anything about the satellite??

 

SuperLdude, when your navi system is turned on (and car is stopped) push the "DISP" button, then follow the instructions on page 14 of this pdf:

any idea what would happen if i tried to reset the vehicle sensors when the car is not in park. Would the sensors reverse their readings? I.E. would i be able to input destinations while im driving?

 

I don't know, but I'm guessing that the system will not let you reset the sensors if the car is out of Park. It's just a guess though, so try it if you're feeling brave.

Not sure what you're trying to do, but you can always have the split screen with map on the left side and text read out on the right side (next three guidance points), while the radio or any other audio is on.

If your goal is to not have the guidance voice come on over the music, just hit "Menu", then "Volume", then "Off".
After turning the voice off, you can save the setting in "Menu", then "User".

I have mine set up like this because I almost never want to hear the guidance voice.

If I am in a very congested traffic area, and need the navigation, I can always go to the volume setting and turn the guidance volume back on.

 

I think I asked my question badly. On the other Scion audio head units, you get a text read out of what is playing on the radio (for those stations that broadcast the information) and when your iPod is connected (assuming you have the tags of artist information on your MP3 copies). Is there a way to get the text read-out of what is playing on the radio on the navigation screen?

Yeh, I completely misunderstood your question. I hope this helps.

When you are listening to music, push the "Audio" button; any available information will be displayed for satellite music, CD or WMA/MP3 discs, or iPod.
See pages 121-169 of your Scion Navigation System manual (not the standard xB Owner's Manual) it's all there.
