Default OEM Sirius Tuner no longer available?

I already have the kit, and am getting my tuner replaced under warranty due to some "no signal" issues. The parts department I bought from also indicated that Toyota is not making this kit anymore.

Also, you can no longer order the Sirius tuner and fit kit from trdsparks.com either.

I wonder what gives.

Does anyone have any info on this?

I did a google search for the TOY-SC1 and found it as cheap as $50; crutchfield listed the product as well for $100

I am getting another factory tuner under warranty, so I guess there are still some in warehouses. I was just curious as to why the OEM sirius kit can't be bought anymore. Thanks for the answer.

Strange that an accessory would go out of production so quickly. I wonder how Scion will offer Sirus radio now...

yea.. one of our customers bought the sirius satelite radio and we found out the same thing. so the xm radio kit which is the same thing and price basically, is what we installed. we still offer the xm one. so good luck on finding the factory sirius kit

SchaumburgScion

Will the XM sat radio kit and receiver work if you have a Sirius radio account?

I dont think it does. Because when I got my first sirius hand held radio i wanted to just piggyback off my friends XM account b/c it would only have been an $10 a month fee more than what he's paying now. But when i called they said that although they've merged stations, they're still two seperate companies when it comes to their billing and stuff.

wondering if anyone else has anymore info on this?
