I stayed within budget, darn constraints!
Looking forward to hearing your setup! Bigger alt, 4k watts for the sub, etc. I want complete specs too!

I'm really thinking about doing a single subwoofer setup... The box I have now is HUGE!

My ginormous amplifier...

Actually, cubic feet don't really count with this type of enclosure. It is what is refered to as a rear loading horn. Pic of the innters...

Not a bandpass. However, prior I did have a 4th order bandpass. It sounded excellent. www.hexibase.com is the place to get blueprints for an enclosure design if you want the most out of your subwoofers. Previously I just thought my subs were junk.

I currently have abourt 400watts going to the box. That's 200watts apiece. The subs are rated at 2000rms.

I can feel my hair move. Not a lot, but it tingles.

I noticed you were choosing polk audio. Not to say anything about your choice but id watch out everything ive heard about polk is bad and i had them in my other car and blew them didnt take but a few weeks. Thats tho running off a amp. Ive just heard a lot about them thats not the best but it also goes witht eh layout of how you are running them. If its off a amp or headunit. But yea gunna be a nice layout man hope all goes well mine is just not starting up getting my car tuesday hopefully and the process begins imediatly

Polks are bread and butter I guess, nothing fancy but for what you're paying for them you don't expect amazing sound. DLS, ID, CDT, RE, OZ, etc and then you're really looking at great sound options, of course your $ scale also moved up. Each person needs to set their goals and work within certain limitations, I did that for myself and I'm hoping the results are good, then again I didn't set my expectations high.

Good luck on your build, keep us posted, we like pics. ;)

What Polks did you have and what amp/wattage were you running?

I've used Polks in My 99 Rav4, Eclipse GT Spyder, Matrix, and now the xB. I've yet to blow any. By comparison, I blew an infinity in my Maxima and Tercel previously.

I ran 100x4 RMS off a Fosgate to the Polks once (didn't like the way it sounded), and 75x4 off a JL ever since, and have had 0 deaths.

My entire household has been sick, still are. wife, son and myself. Work is progressing painfully slow.
I have to finish up my deadening and still waiting on my effin' sub enclosure before I go tearing into the install fully.
