Default Shifter box

I was wondering if anyone had seen a mod for the shifter box on the standard. I opened it up to add a red led as a fake alarm and i realized that it was actually bigger than it needed to be. It looked like you could take off at least a half inch on either side and then inwards some. It starts to come out thiner then it bulges out wider where the main part of the whole thing sticks out. I think if they made a more compact box it would just add to the legroom and cavelike appearance of the inside of the XB.

Has anyone heard of such an item? Im kind of scared to try for myself.
The most custom thing i did was my own glow in the dark shift ****.

I acctully wish they would have made it with a storage bin on the bottom like the toyota matrix. or if someone would come out with a kit to add a bin to it that would work as well.
