Default Stealth GPS Mount

Hey guys, just wanted to give some of you an idea about a stealth gps mount. Unfortunately, I live in a neighborhood where most my neighbors don't feel the need to work, and resort to other means to get money. I wanted to mount my GPS someplace where it would be out of sight, but also functional without having to put it up and take it down all the time. Here's a few pics, let me know what you guys think. It's hardwired in to the fusebox and is powered when the vehicle is on, and turns itself off when the car is turned off. Also, the reception is not impaired at all, I initially used this setup for a week on my vacation to Maine and had absolutely no problems with reception at all.Unfortunately, I didn't take any pics during install, just these after the fact, but if anybody has any questions, I'd be glad to help.

Wow that is really cool. I'm digging the location, but how easy is it for you to flick your eyes up there to check on your route? I imagine it must be quite difficult. I have a Garmin 255W (text-to-speech, but no bluetooth) and I use a friction mount to put it on the dash in front of me. Glancing to the center console is okay, but looking up at the roof would take a little bit too much time for me if I need to glance fast.

In either case, it looks awesome and is truly one of the best custom mods I have seen.

Looks very clean , is that a radar scanner under the mirror? i might try to relocate mine because i hate having anything on the dash. I think it makes my car an instant target for theives!

WOW, alot of remarks in such a short amount of time, Thanks guys. And to answer a few questions, actually it's become like second nature for me to look up to see the gps, since it's literally above my rearview mirror, which i'm always looking into anyway for one reason or another. The great thing is, i've had people sit in the drivers seat, and they haven't even noticed it was there till they looked in the mirror. i'm 5'8, and don't really have much of a problem seeing it at all. The only minor complaint I have is reaching to play with it while i'm driving is difficult, which i shouldn't be doing anyway. And yes, I do have a 10, with just under 6k on it, and loving it more and more every day. Also, yes that is a radar detector mounted under the mirror, its a special mount made for Beltronics/Escort detectors (also available for V1 detectors), that allows a semi-permanent mount for your detector to the mirror arm. It's a bit pricey for what it does, but I def. would buy again. Also, my GPS is 255w as well. Lastly, I purchased the overhead console strictly for this set up, well actually the original idea was to mount the gps inside the first flip down cubby (and flip up when not in use), but wow talk about an obstruction of view, that lasted about 10 mins and then I stumbled on doing this.
