Default Stock Head unit

Got a second gen 09, just curious what the output is for this.

I am considering replacing the front speakers with some new components but just want to make sure the stocker is good enough...

It has decent power (no rating info available that I know of). If you change the speakers, change the sound profile to custom/flat and tweak it yourself. If the sound doesn't work out, try a different HU.

Its likely 22W RMS or less, like pretty much every other aftermarket HU, with the exception of a few.

You'll likely want to amplify them. Its hard to get speakers to shine with only 22W each. Even a small 50x4 from a quality company like Rockford Fosgate would make them shine.

Unless you're looking for head banger sound, don't worry about the amplification. Install the speakers you want and if you're ultimately dissatisfied with what you hear, then look at an aftermarket HU. If you're looking for the N'th -- then look at an aftermarket amplifier -- but absolutely don't start there.

This is true. I guess what I meant was, don't be dissapointed if your speakers don't sound great off the HU, just look into an amp. I just dropped in a pair of DLS X-Program comps, and even off a 65W amp, they only sound like what I imagined at the top end of amp's capabilities. Luckily I planned on running them off a 200x2 amp, but its in the shop for repairs and the 65x2 is just temporary.
