Ok so i got a New Head Unit http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-P3200DVD.html And have done everything i can think of to get the bass to hit as hard as it did on my stock HU and i just can'y I've played with the EQ settings and the amp itself and i can't get it right could someone please help.

 

It would be a great help to us if you could describe what your system consists of (amps, speakers, etc.). Anywho, on with the remote analysis...
EQ settings on different HUs are, well, different. The curves and Q of the curve (how wide a frequency spread it affects) will vary, as will the center frequency. Fiddling with the EQ does help, but it takes a lot of fiddling to get it to sound the same. If you're running a sub, the may be a large gap between the midbass and sub crossover points.

 

2 12's and they just don't hit as hard as they did before. Like they used to hurt my ears and could easily be heard about 20 feet away, now they just rumble the car. And the only thing i've changed is my HU.

Have you run the Auto EQ feature yet? Is the sub amp hooked to the subwoofer output from the deck? If so what x-over frequency do you have it set at? What level is the subwoofer output set at?

Need more information.

First thing it to put the EQ back to flat and tweak the broader adjustments first, things like the Auto EQ, x-over points and output levels. From there you can start using the EQ settings to fine tune things.

 

Can't use auto eq for some reason it's blacked out. sub out put +3

 

You need to order the mic http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...r-CD-MC20.html and plug it in for the EQ to work.

Barring that baseline everything and start with the x-overs and output levels.

 

i'm wondering if the mic is worth it. anyone here used it?

 

I've used it on a few other Pioneer installs I've done and it actually work really well. It's not perfect but it get a lot of the tuning taking care of easily. Stuff like the crossovers and gains still have to be set properly first b ut I've been impressed with it.
