deaden the road noise? I never noticed it as much when I first bought the car....but am hearing the road a LOT more....any way to make it a quieter ride inside?

Stop the door rattle from the stereo??

 

I went to Lowe's and bought peel and seal inslation (basically the same as sound deadening out there) and covered my hatch and rear quarter panels, remind me to show you tomorrow

 

umm edead or dynomat works. i beleive dynomat for the doors edead for the lower half of the car. you will need to take out a lot of the interior.

 

oh man...not sure I am up for taking out interior that scares me!

 

Thats I meant, dynomat, the stuff i got is bascially the same but only $16 a roll

 

umm i have a few pdf files that can helpjust when removing stuff mark it with painters tape where you took it off from. that way putting back together is a snap. plus you learn about your XB. that dynomat stuff work great. not sure about tc4me's stuff but she can tell you about that. lol

 

you can always sing louder. then you won't hear the road noise :D

 

That was my daughter singing...NOT me. I am fully aware that i can't sing....LOL

But likely I didn't hear it before cuz the stereo was always on.....now it's nice to have quiet when driving....I dunno I don't always want music

That would be cool...learning more about my box. Next is to do some fun wiring LOL got hardwire LED's and need to figure out how to install a switch so I can get those installed.

Got the HVAC Neowedge LED's today, so going to change those to blue. Our new gauge cluster should be here soon....LED's in gauge have been changed, but need the cluster overlay so it shows blue...not green....

 

edead also makes a paint on deadener, you can apply it as thick or thin as you like, may be easier than the other stuff, I don't know, never messed with any of it, but need to do it sometime.

 

I did the same thing Janesa. It has helped a lot.

works great... actually i put it on over a layer of dynamat... made quite a bit a difference...maybe because i could paint the nooks and crannies that i couldnt reach with dynamat sheets

maybe a 1-2 punch sheet sound deadener and liquid top coat...

gave Brain the 1/2 gallon or so i had left over... he turned the tC trunk into a smurf

Yeah the paint edead is awsome........takes a nice warm day to do it in and a lot of time,but it works awsome........also the v2 edead is also great as is dynomat........carefull using home repair products.......you can get trapped vapors from them that can make you sick.......and caouse oder.

 

so they wouldn't be ok to put in a car but would be ok to put in your home? i can't really see how that's different considering how much time you would spend in/with each.

 

my wife started complaining about how loud her exhaust was. She said she couldn't hear her music. I said, "I can fix that," and turned up the radio...she got mad

 

tru.... but im gonna lean toward the house being a bigger area w/more airflow/venting vs a smaller confined area with less airflow (unless all windows down fan going etc) of a car makes all the difference

 

I had my dad check it out before it went in my car.. he is in the home building construction work.. its all good, I haven't had any random smells in my car or got sick, only time I get sick is when chris drives
