Default Where to put my Ipod Nano (behind cupholder?)

The Scion site says all cars come with an ipod holder. I can't figure out how to store mine. I assume that funny shaped compartment behind the cup holder is where it goes. It just doesn't fit good with the cable. Please include pictures if you can. What about the ipod cup on another thread. Did ya'll get these?

Well I think it was designed to be used this way with a video iPod.

But I frequently have it like this

Personally though I prefer this way since there is absolutely no reason to touch your iPod while it is plugged into the xB.

which puts the iPod out of sight under the seat.

You'll notice I even leave mine in the Apple supplied case (upside down). No point in getting it scratched up for no reason.

Somebody here did a mod to turn the iPod connector around to the inside of the console storage and put their iPod inside the storage area. I think that is a good idea. With the head units supplied with this car, the iPod may as well be shut in the glove compartment instead of the slightly silly stock location.

Hope that gives you some ideas for where you might put your Nano.

mine is in the center console. I basically just stuck it in there with the cord hanging out. when I get a chance I might move the connection inside

I was given a foam/rubber cup holder insert that holds my ipod nice and snug. Did you not get one with your new xB?

Ditto

No need to have the iPod anyplace accessible let alone using up a cup holder spot.

I haven't taken a serious look at this yet, but has anyone tried to move the connector inside the center console so that the connector and the ipod are not visible at all? Anyone got steps and/or pics of how to do this?

I don't remember who it was but I do not recall that they posted instructions. I think it was just pics.
I have not looked at this very seriously since I just leave my iPod plugged in and under the seat except for when it's time to do updates.

i took the wires out of the console, used 2 of the factory block off plugs to fill the holes, then rerouted the wire inside the glove box. as i run stereo wiring i'll cut the ports into the glovebox to make it more sanitary.

relocated all of it into the center console. Filled the old spots with switches for the Nav bypass and the other for underbody lights

I'm going to be moving my ipod and aux connectors inside the center console, and installing a homelink module in their place. I'll take pictures once I finish.
