I have had my xB for about 3-1/2 months. I have been experiencing problems with my car. 2 main problems.

1) When I take out my keys and turn off my engine, the radio still goes for about 5 solid seconds. The interior lights don't turn on until I open the door.

2) Most times when I exit the car after turning it off and I use the remote to lock the car - that shiet don't work. I have to press it like 10 times for the car to respond.




Ugh! Time to visit the dealer. I want the upgraded Pioneer radio. They better credit me for it. And Somehow make the computer in the car respond to the ignition/lock problem (maybe its the immobilizer?)

 

this is what the warranty is for, they won't give you a new radio, but they will have it fixed, and the remote lock, could be a dead battery or a bad receiver, which they can replace.

as for the lights not turning on when you open the door, that is something you have to do buy looking at the dome lights, there should be a sliding switch with these three options; "on, off, door" in that order.

on means the light will be on until you turn it to off, which means that it will turn off and stay off unless you move it back to on, and now door, door means that it will come on when you use the remote unlock button, or open the door to get in and out. so go and do that.

 

Hahaha, you didn't get it. When I pull out the key, the interior light doesn't come on. I have it set to "Door" which is the standard setting.

Usually when you turn off the car and take out the key, the interior light turns on.

 

As my father the **** retentive CPA says:

1) "If all else fails, read the instructions."

2) "That's why you have a warranty."

3) "Shut up and deal with it."

 

Good rules to live by. I was just curious as to who else this happened to. Apparently no one. I got a LEMON BOX!

 

The radio will stay on for like 30 seconds until you open the door; and your remote sounds like it needs new batteries.

 

i'm trying to think...i don't think the interior light in my tc comes on if i just turn the ignition off...i think it only does it when the door opens...

 

Really? My xB did when it was new and so did my Maxima in the past.

 

1. sounds like a battery issue with the remote
2. sounds like a programming issue with the computer.
My lights do come on for about 5 to 10 secs after I turn off the vehicle, however the radio shuts off when I turn it off.

You can also try lowering your window after you turn off your xB, however this will only work for a few secs (60 maybe) or untill you open the door.

 

since it is still under waranty, just bring it in to your dealer and let them worry about it

 

My stereo turns off right when i pull out the key, BUT a few times it did stay on for like 5 seconds, but its back to normal now... i actually kinda liked the stereo staying on till i got out of the car, but thats just me.

 

Hahaha, your remote isnt gonna work later on, watch!

When the radio still goes its like a ghetto turbo timer.



Fawk gotta find time to go to the dealer! I need to cancel my prepaid maintenance as well.
