Default '09 xB2's

Hey everyone, ok my folks are looking for an xB2, but no dealers around me have any except for one and it's the dealer demo, (ewww)

We were told that the '09 xB2's are sitting at port and not being released until the end of the month. Is this true. I feel like we are just getting the run around.

If anyone around the tri state area knows of any xB2's let me know.

I notice that you are in NJ, which is part of the New york region (NY, NJ and CT) and I've noticed that region in particular is holding back on the 09s for now-- they are in fact sitting at the port, but they don't want to ship them to the dealers yet, until they have cleared out more of the 08 models.

Just wait until they come in, no sense in paying for an 08 when the 09s are on the way.

I work for Lia toyota in albany and they said that another reason why we haven't got any is because of the whole diesel situation

Why does it matter?

The car is EXACTLY the same other than it says 09 instead of 08, and it is $100 more.

I could see that.

Any word on if it is the end of the month, I heard from someone else they might be in as soon as 7-10 days

I talked to my local Lithia dealer and they told me that the 09's are in port. If I could get one it would take 3-5 weeks for it to arrive. I'd just as soon get an '08 instead of wait. I wanted the Stingray Metallic but that's not worth waiting for in my situation since I have no other form of transportation.

dealer demo is not always a bad thing, the one i got was the dealer demo, however it had very few miles on it and i put over half of them on it when i test drove it, the other miles were put on by my step brother before he got his. dealer demo is not always a bad thing!

Resale value, a "year" old vehicle & driving it off the lot = not good....

I guess to some it doesn't really matter, but to me it would. You're taking quite a hit on it when you combine those to things. I'd gladly wait and pay the extra $100 than potentially losing thousands from the moment you leave the lot.

How would you lose "thousands?"

Not gonna happen.

There would be a slight difference in resale value but not much at all. It would just about even out with the higher price.

Besides, the much better way to go about this is to call all your local dealers and see whom will drop the "dealer fees" that every dealer charges. You know the fake $700 the dealer adds to the cost. Someone will do it, trust me that is how I got my box $700 cheaper than any other advertised price.

Secondly, negotiate your APR. Dealers will whack you with stupid high rates. Don't take that crap. They originally offered me 9% so I walked out, didn't say a word other than, "call me when you get serious." The next offer I got was 4.5%!!

Thirdly, Scion dealers can discount Scions even though they have the "pure price" crap. They can do it if they have a large inventory on the lot, and they discount them all. This is how I saved even more.

When you buy a car from a dealer, make sure you walk out on him a couple times, makes them desperate!

That is how you save "thousands."

Why dont you check dealers in NY they might have them. Check the Web site for dealer numbers and call them to find out. I got my 08 in May 2007. Im pretty sure they're out there somewhere in the tri-state. There are a a few dealership close to GW bridge and Lincon Tunnel.

Kinda crazy how different regions do different things......... We got the first 09 xB in Indiana over a month ago. They still had 08's on the lot be I requested an 09 model.

Austin Texas has had 09s for over a month now. They are selling alongside the 08s. There is a wait to get an 09 with a manual though. as for shopping around, ive tried that and no dealers will budge on price and say that toyota will revoke their license.. yada yada. I will not be financing so cant nego there.... but then im not ready to pull the trigger yet. Cant decide between the xB2 and xD

I believe they dropped Nautical Blue, and added Stingray Metallic.
