Default 1st Gen Owner Switching to 2nd

So I've owned a 2006 PW Scion xB for the last 2 years and have loved it! When I bought it back in October of 2005 I was one of a few people in Utah that actually had one, now they're everywhere.

Over the last 2 years I've come across some minor things that have bothered me about the 1st gen. First of all, the horse! It's a peppy little engine and all, but when you need that extra umph, it's just not there. Also quality of things such as, paint, body metal, interior plastics, upholstery, and the lack of other things like cruise and extra dome lamps.

So when the xB2 came out I got really excited, because I loved the look and they had taken care of all the minute things that had bothered me. However, I started to read opinions and reviews of the xB2 and everyone was saying that it wasn't an "xB". I started to think about just holding on to my xB1 and getting something else after paying it off.

Well, the other day I happened to be driving by a dealer, where a club member happens to be the Scion Manager, so I decided to stop by and just look and maybe drive one. After driving it, I realized that the xB2 is an "xB" in every sense of the word. It's qwirky and a blast to drive! I was getting looks in it, just like I do in my xB1. I fell in love with it!

So to make a long story short, I should be taking delivery on my 2008 xB2 on the 10th of this month. I decided to switch from PW to BSP, so it'll be a little different for me. My buddy from the dealership told me last night that they were installing the spoiler and illuminated door sills in the port yesterday. I can't wait! I'll be putting on springs, rims, tint, and other minor accessories within the next couple of months.

I feel you im going through the same thing with my PWXB. It has its like and dislikes but im just not sure if i can get rid of my XB. It may be hard to fight temptation when i finally see one really hooked up on the street, the concept didnt help things either. But enjoy your new XB at least your still in the SCION family.

Congratulations, I am sort of in the same situation, except I have an RS 3 so its a lot harder to let mine go due to its rareness. I am hoping to trade my wifes car in and let her drive mine and I get the xb2

Well, considering I enjoy washing my car and I washed my PW twice a week anyways, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I too have crossed over from a first gen RS3 to a new 08 Blackberry Crush! Love it! more power more room and still very respectable MPG. And how many Square cars do you know do 0-60 on 7.8 seconds?

I'm so sick of people bashing on the MPG of the xB2! The only reason it went down so much is because of the EPA rating change. If they were to use the old system, it would be fairly close to the xB1. Also, I watched a S/C '05 xB1 run against a stock '08 xB2 with the TRD 19's and the xB2 ate it up. For $800 more you get a faster, more reliable car and better gas mileage than a S/C xB1. Why not?

I'm a little lost on your comments here Matt. It's like you interpreted the exact opposite of what lilpklebox wrote.

Anyone who has had and XB2 long enough to fill it up can verify that the gas mileage has gone down. It should be expected because it has a larger more powerful engine and it's around 700 lbs heavier.

Ah! Thank you for clearing that up. I don't think that a supercharged vehicle is any less reliable that a N/A vehicle if it is tuned correctly. It is my opinion that if anyone does anything half butt it really isn't going to perform well.
