Default 2008 Scion xB Traction Control

Has anyone come up with a way to permanently disable the electronic traction control? Mine drives me nuts.

Is there not just a button that allows you to turn it off?

Check this topic. It explains how to overcome the system turning itself back on automatically at about 30 mph.

I'm curious what is driving you nuts about it?

I have just over 5000 miles on my xB and have barely noticed the traction control. The only time I have really noticed it is on rainy days under acceleration on a slick spot. I'm OK with noticing then since that is exactly when it should be actuating.

I think he wants to not have to turn it off every time he starts the car. I'm sure there is a way to do it. It is possible on the IS300.

There is a problem with the traction control and i will tell you my experience. This has happened twice to me and twice because i thought the first time was a fluke. The week after i got my car i was pulling out of a bank onto the main road, Mind you i have been driving for a while and i know if i can make a shot out into traffic or not. There was plenty of room but to be safe i gunned it. I have a 5 speed just incased your wondering. Well the car took off quick then all of a sudden it's like sombody turned the fuel off to the car my exeleration stopped and it took about 1 second before the car started accelerating agian. I almost got hit because of that. Second time i pulled out and there was a car doing about 60 in a 40 and i didn't see him till i was half way out because of other cars parked in the way and again i had plenty of time so i gunned it and same thing the power just dumped on the car and i had to go all the way over so he could go around me. Now last night i held in the traction button turned off the vsc and took off same way accelerating as i'm turning into the lane and the car took off squeeling the tires, and accelerated perfectly no lag. So the traction control can cause problem if and that a big IF your not away of what it does to the car.

My first sentence is wrong because there is no problem with the system it's just like an over protective mother is all.
