Anybody install a Kill Switch?
I'm thinking of putting a kill switch on the xb. I was wondering if anybody here has done it yet and if so, would an ignition kill be good enough or should I go with the fuel pump? Or am I just wasting time because kill switches are so 1980's? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, a kill switch is rather 1980's, now we just install miniture thermal nuclear reactors inline with a modular communications device (radio/sat/cell) and just send out the remote signal when its been jacked!
*BOOM* city block of perp is now a parking lot.

lol.. you could install a "kill switch" numerous ways.. one would be to use a relay.. and cut the starter wire.. because without the starter wire the vehicle wouldn't crank.. and then use some random thing no one would think of.. like... right rear window switch up.. and make it where you have to hold that switch in the up position while you crank the car.. you could do any combination of things

i'd have to say it's not very necessary with the box. from what i remember while installing my remote start, there are two starter wires, two ignitions, and two accessories. one entertaining fact was that i called my dealership and asked if it had an immobilizer, they said it did, i hot wired my box about 15 minutes later

First car I ever ran into with a kill switch was my dad's '31 Model A Ford in the late '40s, early '50s.
First one I ever had with one was my '55 Chevy in the early '60s. That one had a 1/4 inch headphone jack on the bottom center of the dash that you had to put a shorted plug into for the engine to run. Simple but effective.

scion security is basically a glass break sensor from what i've been told. trust me on it not being easy to hot wire, i did the remote start alarm, and i hot wired it with a metal pick tool connecting the 5 or 6 wires to constant and it started up... with my key hanging on a hook 40 feet away..lol
the clutch bypass is pretty easy too, just requires an additional relay on top of the cost of the alarm.
The other fun part was the 5 independent door triggers that had to be diode isolated. I prefer door triggers to dome light supervision...

Okay I think I'm going to wire it to an Ipod that has to be playing Michael Bolton's "When a man Love's a Woman." But how will this affect the warranty. Surely playing Michael Bolton in an xb voids the warranty and is punishable by death or a $60 fine and is some cases both?
