when taking off, you can here a bad knocking sound. the dealer said it was the pully on the belt tensioner.

anyone know what is involved to remove the pulley and replace

That's what I was thinking, but it might just be because she's a Winer.

hmmm... What are you thinking of going to? if you think you are going to go american then you are sadly mistaken...... Ever think that when you see them they are there for service, as in oil change etc.....

I don't think you'll get any better quality switching to domestics...
Example: Two of my friends have extended cab Chevy S10s. On both trucks, the handle to open the rear door cracked and broke off.
Result: Two trucks unable to open the rear door.
Coincidence? Probably not.

Theres a reason guerrilla fighters in third world countries rock Toyota trucks...

whoo hoo! 1st post!

How bad is the "bad knocking sound?" when i take off, i also have a ticking sound. it only occurs when taking off from after leaving my car in park.

i'd imagine the dealer wouldn't want to replace it, and will make somethign up, so how do u prove this? if i were a stealership and had their mentality, i'd imagine i'd say, "that's just normal noise... the car's a toyota and it's brand new, so do'nt worry."

Yup, like I say "I would rather have a Japanese car built in Japan or U.S., than an American car built in Mexico!" Think about it...
