Default Buying HID's for the box! brands and temp talk

Im going to buy some HID's this week and i was wondering which brand you guys liked best...

GX hid's
Mobile hid's
Mod Express

Any problems with these brands? I was probably going to go with the cheapest, Mod, i get the scionlife discount with them.... Any experience with bad ballasts or bad lights? they are pretty expensive to replace, 50 bucks a bulb??

Ohh well... Im probably going to buy 4k Or 5k... Im going for the OEM BMW or any high end car look... I was told 4k is what they use on their vehicles...

Any recommendations before i make the plunge?

Thanks!

+1 for MobileHID (Lifetime Warranty (That HE backs up himself), and the relay harness (to protect your factory wiring), and Best customer service I have seen from any seller/retailer!

I also went with the 5K, best color combo IMHO, and its not "blue" enough to really get that much attention from the PO-PO

Also goto http://www.mobilehid.com and look on the right, it has a description of all the colors, and yes most OEM use 4300K, but 5000K is more white, and just a hint of blue.

the closest you will get to the bmw/projector look is 5000K or 6000K. the only way to get that nice color that you see in OEMs is to get projectors that create the cutoff and hence the color you see.

I just put in my Mobile HID kit today. I highly recommend Mobile HID, easy install and it was fast shipping.

I got the MobileHID 6k kit. I also have 2 G35s (one coupe and one sedan) and the 6k MobileHID look better than the stock ones installed on those Infinitis. Been only a week since I installed them but so far very happy.

What are the Scionlife prices on these anyway?
I know MobileHID is doing a Scionlife special at $170

Go with either 4300k if you want the best light output or 5000k if you want a little more color but don't want to sacrifice too many lumens.

most of the HID systems will be relatively similar. What you want to pay attention to is which companies carry the best ballast. I dont know about any of the above companies but there are plenty more out there to consider.

Second, MobileHID or Operatic, who's store is actually 3Bspec. They also come with the relay harness and the 35W digital slim kit is crazy small.

I have sonar projectors on the 1st gen box and wanted to match the halos since they were much whiter than the halogens. Went with 6k and now the bulb is whiter than the halo I should have gone w/ 5k and might try and trade the bulbs, they are size 9006.

MobileHID for sure. like mentioned before, 4300k will give you the best light, but 5000k gives you that true euro high end HID look. by far the best thing you can do to enjoy driving at night!!! HUGE improvement!!!
