A/C output

A/C output
As a owner of a 1st generation xB and possibly future owner of a 2nd generation I am wondering if there is any current owners of the xB2 who have direct experiance with both models and could compare a/c output between the two? It's a known fact that the 1st generation only has a adequate a/c system that leaves you wanting more in 100 degree plus days. I don't want to buy another new Scion that I have to run the a/c on max at high fan speed after driving 10 freeway miles just to stay cool. It's sad that i'd rather drive my 10 year old Jeep Wrangler on a 105+ degree day.

Pretty much everyone who has had an experience with both say the 08 is greatly improved. I know Randode and the others in AZ say it is much better someplace on these forums.
I have driven gen1's and experienced the less than stellar A/C. I drove a gen2 in Savannah, GA a couple weeks ago, but it was only about 83 degrees. At that temp the A/C was set with fan on 1 and the temp turned up to about 9 o'clock to be comfortable. Otherwise it was too cold.
Unfortunately I have not even had mine on in my own gen2 since I picked it up Saturday. Highs of 72 don't inspire much A/C use.
Overall the consensus is you will not have a problem.

I have noticed a great improvement in the A/C on the new models. I get quite cool with the settings on 2 or 3 and with it only halfway to cold on the temperature. And this is even after my car has sat in the sun for quite a while on a day when its 100 degrees outside.

The xB2 does seem to get colder faster. My husband liked to run it at full speed on the xB1, but in the xB2 he seldom goes over 3, usually stays on 2 or 1. I like the fact that I can close the vents on the xB2 completely (not able to in xB1) so when husband is driving I do not get frost bite.

It is one of the many reasons why we traded our gen one in A/C rocks especially in texas....instead of keeping it on 3 (out of 4) I keep it on 1 or 2 and the wife has to put on a jacket cause she is cold....
