Default debadging rear hatch emblem

I am interested in painting my rear scion emblem black. I know there are two pins and holes behind it but I was wondering if there is a safe way to take it off and put it back on after I paint it. Anybody know how?

heat it up with a blow dryer, then use fishing line and "cut" the adhesive holding it down. Afterwards, you can re-attach it with some 3M double sided tape, the kind with the red backing is what I used. I think its meant for autos and is pretty strong. hope that helps

/\ I think he is referring to the SCION emblem which is located under the rear window and not the tiny xB emblem on the hatch.

I was actually wondering the same thing myself so hopefully somebody who has done it can chime in. I recently did the wiper delete and got a keytechniques plug. When I was installing that I was messing with that emblem and it doesn't seem too easy to get out gently.

i did it the same way as Murbyrne mention but i also left it in the sun for a while so the whole hatch get pretty hot. its best on pretty hot day.
also don't just heat up the emblem it's best to heat the whole area so the hatch would get hotter and it'll make it much easier to remove.

Oh ok got ya. I didn't realize the SCION emblem had adhesive to it that's why I thought you were describing the xB emblem. Makes sense now
