Disabling or tricking the hatch sensor? 2nd Gen 2008
Anyone know how/if it's possible to either disable it or trick the hatch sensor into thinking it's closed?
Been looking at rear hatch tents for camping but worried about killing my battery with the door-ajar indicator on the dashboard.
I'd try magnets but I'm not even sure where the sensor is or how it tells when it's closed. Everything I've found just says it's in the latch.

You need a screwdriver. Any sort.
Put the screwdriver in the door receiver slot until the latch closes then the light goes out.
To open the latch, just press the button and the light comes back on too.
