I am contemplating an XB. The thing is, I am loosing a few options that I have on my ancient little mercury tracer (94). I want variable wiper speeds and the auto off headlights. Through this forum and some others I have found out that yes, it might be possible. I am not into car electronics though. I managed to do my speakers in my tracer because all it was was a wiring harness.

Do any custom shops add these things? If so, how much would it cost? This could be the different between this car and something like the RAV4 or CRV.

 

Check with a local electronics shop that does car audio insstallations Just gotta look around town ! You may have luck seeking out a tint or a small local garage (Shade tree Mechanic)!!

 

Keep your Tracer if you want your variable speed wipers and auto off headlights... xB2 FTW

 

I wish I could keep it! I love it. It is uber unreliable now. In the shops lots. I think the transmission is dying. It has an overheating problem I can't pinpoint and neither can a shop.

I work for a dealership so I have a list of cars I have liked while being there. So, looking at those. So far I have ruled out smaller hatchbacks do to trunk size (ie matrix, vibe) and the HHR (cup holders in bad spot, can't stretch legs out while driving.)

The remainders: CRV and RAV4 - annoyed at getting the options I want there too! Malibu maxx - smaller trunk thatn an XB, Sonata, not a hatchback. I think that is it.
