Talking Dropped on NF210 w/ new 18" wheels [PICS]

It has been a year since I've had my xB and I just recently started putting more money into it. Started with a eBay spoiler a couple of weeks ago.

Tanabe NF210 set ordered on ebay $215 shipped. I did the install using a guide posted here. First time I've ever installed springs, so it took me a little while. The rear was super easy, can be done in 15 minutes. I had some problems on the passenger side in the front, the axle came out of its socket...freaked me out a bit. With some help (and a prayer) I managed to get it back in. Overall the install took me about 4 hours. Overall very satisfied with the drop...just what I wanted.

The wheels are MSR 092 18x7.5 +38 with cheap, hopefully not too crappy 225/40r18 Diamondback tires. The whole setup cost me $780 including moving TPMS from the old wheels, lug nuts, balance, installation. No rubbing.

Look's very good for as you said "cheap" stuff. How is the quality of the ebay springs? I'm still undecided on what I want to use with my planned setup.

The "ebay" springs are actual Tanabe NF210s. The quality seemed good, but I'm not an expert. There are plenty of people on this forum that have either the NF210 or the DF210 by Tanabe. Here is a threat with those who have the NF210: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=124875

Just springs. Hopefully I won't have to touch the shocks for a while.

First off AndreyCo. very cool, maybe I should have re-worded my question to you as I wasnt very clear. I know you said they were Tanabe and not some generic brand off ebay, but seeing as how you did buy them off ebay I wanted to know what quality Tanabe springs you got...I've heard stories of people getting knock off Tein springs a while back from ebay, Tein even acknowledged it themselves.....Sorry DrewxB08 I just wanted his opnion of his Tanabe spring purchase over ebay

No worries. This is the first time I've ever handled springs, so you're asking the wrong guy. This is what I know: they came in a box that had Tanabe plastered all over the place, and the packing looked just like every other unboxing I've seen here on the forum. It's the real deal as far as I'm concerned.

Looks fantastic! And for $780 for wheels + tires + install, it was a steal. You definitely got your money's worth.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some 18x8 +40 offset Kosei K1 TS wheels with a set of 225/40ZR-18 Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 XL tires. After shipping + local install and transfer of the TPMS sensors, I'm looking at about $1300. And that's with the wheels being on closeout and after the $50.00 Hankook rebate..

Next up will be lowering the box. After reading your post, and others, I'm definitely considering the NF210s. This is my everyday ride and doubles as our second family car. So, after a couple weeks, has your car settled at all. Any rubbing - especially with a couple people in the backseat? I want my new red xB to look sharp, but ride comfort and no rubbing are also very important to me.

I think the springs have settled just a bit. Not a major difference thought. I have a 1.5-2 finger gap between the wheel and the fender in the front, and a 2.5-3 finger gap in the back. After about a week of having the springs I had 5 people in the car...no rubbing at all. With 18" wheels and the 40 profile tires the ride is a bit bumpier, but not too bad. It was a lot smoother with the stock wheels & tires. Remember the NF210s have a softer ride then the stock springs. All in all, my current ride comfort is about the same as stock, possibly a bit stiffer.

Now I'm starting to think about DF210s....
