Default Factory repair manual - available?

I went to the dealer today and was quoted $398 for the 3 volume repair manual set for the '08 xB. I've seen the books for earlier models at $225 and that's what I was prepared to pay, but don't think I can ever get myself up to that $398 price.

Are there alternatives out there? Some way to get them at discount? I always buy the shop manual for my vehicles, but given this car, I should have rolled the cost into the Toyota Financial Services loan!

Keep your eyes open for something from Chilton's or Hayne's. I would think they are the best bet for something on our xb2's.

I wouldn't expect anything from them for five years. They really lag the market on new models.

How about online parts fiche? Does Toyota have that available like Suzuki does for my Vstrom?

if you need anything specific.. i'm able to look something up at the very least.

but typically even most dealerships don't use printed books much anymore.. and everything has been computerized.

That's very generous of you. Can I sneak in a request?

I've been looking for the following torque specs:

08 xB
- front sway bar bushing plates
- front lower ball joint bolts
- front sway bar end links

I've been searching for these for weeks, it would be awesome if you have them.

Thank you!
