Default Finally-the air bag recall arrived

Finally got the letter to say bring the car in for the airbag recall. AZ is in area 2 for the recall, so it has taken a long time.

How much of the dash do they have to take off to get to the passenger airbag?
I have a reversing monitor glued to a piece of foam sitting on the dash right behind the drivers wheel - do they have to take that off?

Just hatin this recall. I have 3 cars involved (xB, Corolla , Mitsu EVO). Im in Calif & have not received the OK on my xB or Corolla

On the EVO, the whole dash has to come out. On the xB, I have just disconnected the pwr source to the pass side bag

Keep us posted on what needs to be done

The work is supposed to be done Monday.
When I called in they assumed it was an '09, so I think that may be the years they are up to.

If I can remember, I'll ask if it's a different part number as well. Kind of pointless putting in a newer version of the same part number.

Recall done. He did have to take off the monitor (the mechanic actually had me remove it which was fine by me), I just have to re-apply some spray adhesive to the foam block it sits on.

The service tech says the part number used in the airbag is different, but wasn't giving specifics.
