can you also position the "xB" logo painted in black? That would look +100 times better IMO.

That does look good! If I did that on mine, though, it would be uselss on a BSP.

The xB doesn't use alignment pins, so not without taping it. However, I've no plan to to reattach the xB badge -- looks better without it IMO.

The Scion badge is now installed with tape, so unless I eventually decide to go Toyota badge (probably won't), it's done.

Thanks for the help everyone !

I was just thinking, the Scion badge is a flat silver. Is there such a thing as a chrome Scion badge? That'd be kinda cool.

Don't know. Guess you'd have to walk through a Scion showroom, though I wouldn't think so. It would cost them more to make and stock different style badges of the same thing.

I'll chrome one out myself. Are you still thinking about the Rumion badge?

Actually, I had the restyled "bB" badge in mind (not the Rumion). My sill guards have "Rumion" on them, but that was by default -- only way I could get four door guards. The reason the "bB" badge appeals to me is as homage to the source of the xB2 styling, that being the bB2. The only things the post-xB2 Rumion contributes are some compatible accessories -- glad to have them available, but not quite the same thing to me !

i'm still trying to figure out how to try to recover from removing mine!! (including the nice gash i put in the paint!!!) I was thinking about the flat black thing, but on the blackberry crush, don't think it would look that good... I have a skull emblem i was going to put on that matched the front, but since there's the hump, it's not going to stick all that well.. I got a plug for the wiper hole, now just waiting on the paint from the dealer... If only i can come up with the million dollar idea...

If you've got a million dollars, just buy a new xB!

I still think, and this is my own opinion of course, that bB badging on a 2GxB is a bad idea. Also, when it comes to design cues, the t2B concept was put out long before the xB2 OR the 2nd gen bB so the design of the xB2 is still not based off of the bB in japan.

It would be like labeling your car as a Matrix because they're similar because they both have a hatchback design.

Interesting -- looks like a chicken Vs egg situation: Did the Scion t2B (Toyota's Calty Design) borrow from the developing bB2, or visa-versa ?

http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...24/020250.html

PS. From what I read, the t2B concept was shown in March 2005, and the bB2 started selling at the end of 2005. Given the time it takes to develop a car, I don't think it's clear which provided the original idea !

Bummer ! FWIW, I used Toyota's procedure of applying masking tape all around the badge to protect the paint during removal. I also applied heat and then used a plastic wedge (spatula should work) to carefully work it off.

Toyota has a procedure for badge removal? They condone this type of activity?!

I think the easiest way by far is to cut through the tape with waxed dental floss, then use 3M adhesive remover on the remaining adhesive. Done.

They sure do, though they specify an IR gun for applying heat. I've no idea what prompted the procedure's inclusion, but it's part of their tech PDF package.

Emblems can be damaged too. Some are warranty if for some reason they would start to peel. I've seen it before. That would give them a reason to need a procedure.
