Hi i just hit 1000 miles with my xb and with other new cars i had i have gotten my first oil change at 1000 cause i was told to do so to get the metal out from the break in period.
On the xb i was told there is no break in period (even though the manual says there is),
so im wondering if i should wait till my 5000 mile change or just change it now then again at 5000 to get back on schedual. Has anyone waited the 5000 and was there any problems.

 

probably not a lot of people at the 5000 mark yet... maybe a few people getting close though... I guess you could change it now... if you want... but there is a Mandatory oil change at the dealer at 5000 ... and 10,000 I think... im guessing they are confident that it will be fine up to 5,000..

 

I've done my 5k and 10k on my 08 HTM xB. No issues yet.

 

youv goy 10k on an xb already? i guess some people drive a lot...

 

yea. this is my 3rd xb. had an 06 BSP that I had for 7 months put 18k on it, an 06 RS4.0 for 3 months traded it in with 7k on it and have had my 08 HTM since May 12th and just over 10k

 

im on 7k going up to 8k and will be needing my second oil change soon.

im off schedule because of the water incident.

i just got my first service at 5k. everything good.
