This will tell you everything you need to know about removing the grills.

Not sure you actually need to remove the grill to replace the horns. It will be really easy if you do though.

That was a link to Sparks Toyota website. They have a lot of the install manuals posted. The pics are of my car when I had the front off to install the Fog Lights.

We have a tech forum?

Default changing the hron?

Hey rsw1124, did you ever change your car horn out? I'm looking to do the same (and get rid of that "beep-beep" cartoon horn sound.

I changed the horn on my Gen 1 xB, but there was soooo little room in there, my replacement horn options were limited.

Also, not really looking forward to taking my front grill off....

I changed out just one of my horns to an American 'high' note from Advanced Auto Parts for only 9.99$.. The grill came off easily enough.. I didnt take pics of it then.. Page 2 of 'R0x0r B0x0r's link tell it all!!!
You can hardly see it, but it's there// It came with a small flat metal strap bracket which I 'bent' it a bit to get the existing holes to match up! Works great, even the plug plugged right in. had to ground the horn with the short wire provided right to the mount.

Now I have a very unique sounding horn.. quite loud & startling too.. good luck with yours...

I want to change the stock horns on my GF's xB2 as well, but not if ya have to remove more than the grille, which I don't see why you would have to, based on the location of the horns.

I thought about a set of Hella Supertones, but I saw that Toyota Japan sells "premium horns." I wonder what they sound like, as none of the websites that show them have a working audio file of the horn tones.
