Yeah, I know, I probably should have kept it to myself, but I don't get such strongly positive feedback too often and so I wanted to share .

Trevor, You're welcome man! As for what you need to do the mod is (if I recall correctly) a deep socket 12mm wrench.

Basically, the socket Brad mentions for removing the original shift assembly and a #2 Phillips screwdriver for the two screws below the shift console top cover. Thanks to the xB's snap together panels and electrical connectors, it's pretty easy to do. Seems like under a 1/2 hour is the norm .

Oops, sorry about misunderstanding ! Procedure is to buy the short shifter for $99 shipped, and then when you're done with the install, I'll buy a good condition original for $25.
