Gps dvd bypass on avic 900 pioneer
In the 09 Xb I have a factory installed Pioneer AVIC 900 which plays DVD and has GPS. I know you can bypass so you can have DVD on the go and also access to the adress to full functions of the GPS.
So..... I moved the mute wire to the second position... I then ran a ground to the mute wire and the green wire as instructed.... but I still loose the address portion of the GPS and the ability to see the DVD once the brake handle is lowered.
What have I missed here? I also saw somewhere that there is both a hardware and a software bypass. This would be the hardware, so what is the software bypass?

I have had the F900 BT since the day it came out. all i did was move the mute wire to an empty slot and bam! video on the go! But i only use it for shows, to dangers to drive with and the ticket is very high!
I will go into the dash again tonight and be sure that is what I did, but I'm sure it is.
I don't want the video to work while driving, I am more interested in having all the GPS functions active while driving. I HATE having to pull over to put in a new address when my wife or child could do it while we are rolling down the road.
Thanks for the responces guys. Back to the garage....

:-) Well.... my B is torn to bits right now getting a new audio system installed. It's gonna sound awesome. So when I pulled the deck out again tonight I found that the :green: wire went to location # 11 and a RED/WHT went to # 9. The green wire in # 11 was a small gauge and the wire in # 9 was twice the size.
Long story short, I re-connected the green wire to the part I cut off and then joined the MUTE & # 9 RED/WHT wires to ground. I have not had a chance to test it, but will in a couple of days when the battery is reconnected. Hope it works.

OK, how in the heck do you get the rear door, speaker wire through the B-Pillar connector? I can't figure out how to even get it unplugged. I have some good wire for the door speakers, got the fronts done already, but what's up with the rear doors?
