Default Headlights turning off

It seems like it's almost a standard feature in most cars that when your headlights are on, the ignition is off, and you open the door, the headlights automaticaly cut off. My last four cars had this feature. So I'm wondering, does our XB not have this feature or do I need to visit my dealer? I thought that maybe the lights cut off after , say 10-15 min, of them staying on. But mine don't cut off by themself. I have to remember to do it. Is this normal?

the XB does go ding ding ding ding ding!! and the lights will go out eventually!! But not before the battery dies though! I am not sure if this is programmable or not...

Did a quick search and found this out!! THis product is used by someone here for their conversion for auto headlights.

Wow, that will definitely be worth it if it's something I can put in the car myself. Anyone done this?
