Default Hit a curb

So a few days ago i hit a curb really hard, blew a tire and bent my stock rim

and i went to the dealer and they were asking for $500 for a new tire, rim and alligment
so i talked them down to $300 for a new tire and Rim

Toyota OEM parts are expensive

also they said that my wheel bearing could be bad too
i mean when i drove on the spare tire it was pretty loud but i mean it could have been from the spare tire

what are the chances i screwed up my wheel berring?

Well if you hit that hard, it could have messed up a lot of stuff. Have they checked your alignment? If you hit hard enough to bend a wheel and blow a tire, it could've also bent a tie rod or something. Probably at least threw off the alignment.

So how fast were you going?

Yeah but if the dealer does it, they'll find out if something else is screwed up and replace it. If you go somewhere else and they can't re-align it without replacing something, you're just going to end up back at the dealer. Either way, at least you're getting it checked out.

the dealers are screwing us, they quoted me $125 for a tire and mentioned $400 for a steel rim.
I told them to kiss my ___, and that I could buy a set off ebay for $400.

If you buy a xB and get some aftermartket / TRD wheels, you still own the steelies that came with it.

Wow, I didn't know my steels were worth that much. I've got em stacked up in storage in the boxes of my alloy wheels. I should sell them on EBay, I guess.

wow $400 for a steel rim? they gave it to be for $150. aftermarket costs $60

i understand why it cost so much for my tire tho, cause they are bridgestones, and retail is pretty epensive for them

i just hope the bearing isnt messed up

Folks, please don't pay that much for those rims. I have four sitting around I will never use again and would be willing to part with cheap. PM me if someone needs one or just get the set for dirt cheap if you are a curb hunter.

master umm the loaner is probably all you will get. they are giving you another vehicle to drive that is all they have to do. it is not like it is a malfunctioning part. you hit a curb. so demanding stuff at this point. it will be pointless.

True you did hit the curb and damage it and all on your own.

BUT

I've never heard of a dealership taking that long to get a tire and mount it. I'd bet someone forgot to order it or something and they didn't realize it until you called.
