Default Hit by two xB2 Curses at 17k miles...

Cracked windshield; just happened riding down the road, and I did not even think a rock hit it. Drivers side, and it goes well below the plastic, I assume all the way to the edge.

Pink line. I just checked my oil last weekend and it was not there. I got out to take a pic of the crack, and I smelled coolant.

Nice....

I think you guys either need glasses or monitor adjustments, cuz Im on a little **** netbook and it's fine.

In the first picture, where it looks like someone took a sharpie and drew on the windshield, thats the crack Ive seen others have problems with. The reflections are from my garage ceiling, but you can clearly see the defrost vents.

The second is the hood liner, with the nice pink coolant spray. Nice that i got hit with both in the same week...

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I thought that the windshield cracking issue was a curse of the xB1 not the xB2. Am I incorrect?

They both have fairly vertical windshields and so they're both prone to cracks due to tossed rocks.

I'm not too worried with the windshield, because it wont be the last one, and it sure aint the first one. I was hoping the water pump bug would not get me though.

Your car is still under warranty though right?

Yeah, I'm hoping to miss both issues, but the windshield is mostly chance and I don't know what to think of the water pump. I'd like to think that somewhere there's information identifying a defective lot of pumps and the serial number range of the cars that received them. However, without an SB, we can't even be sure it's just a bad lot. Can you imagine having the pump replaced only to have the new one go a few K miles later ! Sure would be nice to have a little inside information on this.

I got the pink line around 40k miles on my box. Dreadful, because I only have about another 30k before my warranty is up.

I still haven't brought it to the dealership.

I can't wait to have to replace the water pump again when it's not under warranty.

Does the pump fall under bumper to bumper or powertrain?

I have no idea, but a lot of people here have been getting it fixed for free by the dealerships because apparently it is an epidemic. Poorly manufactured water pump.

So when my semester ends, I'm going to schedule an appointment and drop on by, see what they have to say about the bad water pump epidemic.

No, and its been a known issue on the 2az-fe for several years. Its basically a hit or miss with the water pumps.
