Default hitch on a R.S. xB2

has anyone out there with a release series 8.0 installed a trailer hitch? it ones i am lookin at all look to be pretty close to the bumper on the standard rear bumper, does this custom bumper sit down lower? will a hitch still fit? i would like confirmation that it will fit and possibly which one you installed? there are a number of different ones i have found, from curt, draw tite, and u haul among others..

I do recall reading in the owner manual that using a hitch is not recommended. You can probably mount one on, but I'm not sure what the bumper and body will do under load. What will you be towing?

If the 8.0 series bumper is the same width as the regular XB... it will work... I had one on my '08'.... and it worked fine for pulling my trailer and Harley.... I kept it when
the car went to my son and I put it on my 2011 Xb.. Just picked it up... minor changes but they are improvements.............................................................................

cool - good info

i only plan on towing a small utility trailer, nothing larger then a few hundred pounds.. and i bought the manual tranny specifically so i wouldnt have to worry about wearing a automatic out hauling around the extra weight.. i wouldnt pull a pontoon boat with it, but i dont see a problem with a small trailer..

Your RS8 has a body kit on it, so the bottom of the back bumper is lower than OEM. So I would think it wouldn't fit without modification.

Mine just touches my bumper and I have no kit installed.

i am a little concerned about this too - i realize the bumper is different but with some photo comparison, i am not sure it hangs lower - it is just different.

also - drawtite.com has a hitch listed for 2011 Scion xB -all trims = so i ordered it fgor right at $100.. if it doesnt fit i will either moidify it or give up - but i will give it a try - i have wasted $100 before..
