First day I owned my XB, I was going up hill passing traffic when I noticed the speedo reading 102, I didn't even have the hammer all the way down. It was then I realized this car is more than some econo box.

I did the same completely stock, so don't feel so confident about the mods. It was, downhill and had the wind to the back of me, and a lot of cargo, though. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm NEVER going that high again. Scared the crap out of me, haha.

Oh, ps -- I have a manual. I'm not sure the manuals are "electronically limited," however I could be wrong.

I thought the XB2 couldn't go faster than 127 mph due to the tranny gearing???

i doubt it was mph. i'm sure it was km/h bc there is no way at that speed you (or at least me) would even want to take their hands off the wheel :D

providing a pic that isnt cropped would have been alot better (to read the tach), however the engine is speed limited from what I have read here.

This could be why, but I'm not entirely sure. I don't think manual transmissions can be regulated or "governed"

the govenor doesn't do anything with the tranny, its all engine based, ie its cuts off the fuel.

I mean really, my very safe lil' box w/lil' engine goes 120+ mph for very little cash (comparatively). Plus you can change the speedo to km/h to scare the be'jesus out of your passengers when they aren't paying attention. I love this car. I really love this car.

Whats the point of this thread, though really? Buy a sports car if you want to go fast.

It bugs the hell out of me that you guys think its funny to go double the speed limit /shame

Be sure to post the excuse you use when you get a felony speeding ticket or kill some one. "Durrr Sorry i was trying to go as fast as possible and take a picture while drinking coffee!"

the poit of this thread was to see what the top seed limit is on our cars. i only like acceleration im not a fan of top speed. and which would u rather do? Pay 80,000 to go 140 mph? or 16,000? i think i will take my 16,000 + style. relaaaaaxxxxx

and to the other poster switching to KMH is AWESOME. hit 135 kmh today (85 mph) it was cool.

Default Relax, Take a deep breath & relax.

At the risk of getting flamed, ZLOG please read & take this forum with a grain of salt. I am the one who posted the blurry cellphone camera 133 picture. No I wasn't holding hot coffee and a passenger actually took the crappy picture which blurred the km/h.
133 km/h is about 83 mph. Not the safest speed, but not all that dangerous either. Perhaps less dangerous than playing with a Pioneer AVIC D3 w/ nav bypass while driving. We all have our failings.
Have fun with your car. And to all, be safe.
